Their Mission Statement

FDAMH’s mission is to assist people to recover from mental health problems and to promote mental wellbeing. We do so by offering a range of services that aim to empower individuals to lead a fulfilling and participative life: we provide education and support for their carers and are committed to bringing people together from across the local community.

Value Statement

The values that underpin the work of FDAMH are:

We believe in the value of empowering people to improve their life chances for themselves and their wider community.

We treat one another with respect and value the contributions that come from each individual person that we encounter.

We are committed to honesty and trust in all relationships.

Vision Statement

We aim to be regarded as a model of excellence in providing services that respond to the needs of those experiencing mental health problems, their carers and the wider community.

Established in 1981, FDAMH is a membership organisation (see Join Us / Support Us page for details) managed by a Board of Directors that are elected by our membership. Board members come from all walks of life: professionals, carers and service users.

At present we have 13 members of staff and 106 volunteers. Volunteers are central to FDAMH’s activities and contribute as befrienders, counsellors, providing administrative support and working with staff in several of our projects. Please see the volunteering page for further information (website detials are at the top of the page)
